Take Five 4 Human Grooming opened for business on January 3rd, 1993 on Historic Campus Corner. The salon opened with only four chairs and quickly expanded to five in April, 1993.

Within three years Take Five grew so much that we had to expand to the second story of our building where we decided to offer a day spa experience with massage and private waxing.

Take Five's name was derived from Dave Brubeck’s jazz song "Take Five", which is supposed to make you want to take five and relax enough to enjoy life. Our cliental comes from all walks of life; professionals, professors, college students and anyone else who dares to be different.

In December 2003, Take Five expanded to a second location in Harold's Square on Historic Campus Corner. The name of the second salon is CUT, which derived from Take Five 4 Human Grooming and what we are famous for, Great Haircuts! CUT has five chairs and attracts people who are looking for a great hairstylist and a salon that makes them feel at home. We are able to satisfy people by being able to accommodate them at either location. If we can't accommodate you at CUT we can simply send you over to the flag ship salon.

Take Five has built a quality name in Norman and attracts phenomenal hairstylists. We’ve been featured on the radio by Bancfirst as the "Business Of The Month", and by the Gazette as "Best Salon". We also have a gold plaque at the Sooner Theatre as a theatre promoter. The Take Five salon is a member of the Norman Chamber of Commerce and the Campus Corner Merchants Association.
